Nancy has 26 years of experience as an wedding event coordinator in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and Lion House. She was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah. When Nancy isn’t working she loves reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family. Some of her favorite menu items served in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building are the Artichoke Chicken and Florentine Cookies with Ice Cream. Nancy’s piece of advice to every bride out there is to do the following: “Spread out your day. So many people have their wedding events scheduled back to back. Don’t have every event happen one right after the other – make it more relaxing. Have some time in between each event so you can just enjoy the day. And don’t worry about your guests; they won’t mind a little downtime.”
Terry has been planning wedding events in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and Lion House for 18 years. She was born in Montpelier, Idaho and raised in Bountiful, Utah. When Terry isn’t planning wedding events, she loves traveling, hiking and spending time with her family. Two of her favorite menu items offered in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building are the Smith Chicken and the Chocolate Three Layer Cake. Terry’s advice to all brides planning a wedding event is this: “When you realize the extent of all the planning, coordinating, organizing, setting up and herding of people involved in one wedding day, it’s no wonder so many couples choose to hire a wedding planner! The good news is we are included in your wedding planning here at the JSMB. We will guide you through the process. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Everything will be ok. Smile. Laugh. Savor every moment!”
Chris has been planning wedding events in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and Lion House for nearly 10 years. She is a native to Salt Lake City, Utah and loves working here. Chris and her husband have two boys – both are married with beautiful children. Chris always dreamt of planning weddings, but never thought she would get the chance since she only has sons. So, she decided to go into the business of planning weddings for others, and she has loved it ever since. When Chris isn’t working, she loves to design and decorate for others, read, travel and spend time with her family. One of her favorite menu items served in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building is the Pork Tenderloin Normandy. Chris’ advice to all brides is this: “In planning your wedding event, make sure it reflects who you are, who you are as a couple, your personalities, and the things you love – make it uniquely about you.”
Mercedes has been a wedding event coordinator in The Joseph Smith Memorial Building and Lion House for nearly 15 years. She is originally from Uruguay, but grew up mostly in Taylorsville, Utah. Mercedes loves cooking and spending time with her family. She and her husband have five beautiful children. Two of Mercedes’ favorite menu items served in the Lion House are the Chicken Crepes and Sting of the Bee Cake. She loves the Chicken Crepes because she says, “they are simple and sooo good”; the Sting of the Bee Cake is one of her favorites because of the delicious, unique German almond cake and butter cream filling. If Mercedes could offer one piece of advice to all brides, it would be this: “Don’t worry so much about trying to please every one of your guests. It’s your and your future spouse’s day. Do what is really you and what will really make you happy in the end. Follow your heart.”
