The iconic statue of Brigham Young is elegantly captured in this shot. The fall colors in the trees and the cloudy sky are the perfect backdrop, with the spires of the temple subtly peeking out. The composition is right on point and is well complemented with the warm filter.

Simply stunning how bright the temple stands out in the dark sky but it doesn’t completely take over the shot because of the trees and the Tabernacle surrounding it. We also love how the shepherds and the sheep are turned to the temple, on their way to the stable, as the temple acts as the guiding star.

One of the coolest things about Temple Square is that in any building you enter, there’s a 90% chance of someone playing live music. The most obvious places would be the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and the Tabernacle, so it’s fun to see the pianist in Conference Center being featured. The black and white choice with the shadows and highlights, and the impressive windows make it an even greater shot.

It’s hard to not be struck by this shot! The composition is very compelling but the colors and contrast are what it makes it stand out. The color of the sky blending in with the temple’s make the spires look even brighter, while the red lights and leaves frame the temple beautifully.

We love when visitors pay attention and capture the not-so-obvious architectural details on Temple Square. In this shot, the photographer takes us back in time and brings to life the Assembly Hall’s charming stained glass windows. The symmetry, the simplicity and the careful composition come together in a tasteful shot.

The possibilities are endless at Temple Square with so many fascinating buildings and landscapes to capture. Even the most traditional shots leave room for creativity! We enjoyed seeing this popular photo op captured with fisheye lens and the dynamic it added to to the shot.

November marked the first snowstorm of the season, and of course Instagrammers were there to capture it. In this photo, Temple Square is not just covered in white but we can actually see the snow falling, which makes it even more magical and peaceful.

One of our favorites Christmas decorations on Temple Square is the nativity in the reflection pool. The angle of this shot is on point, and complemented by the light and shadows it’s truly captivating. We also like how the blurred water helps us to focus on the nativity scene and adds tranquility to the shot.

The most wonderful time of the year at Temple Square has arrived, and it has arrived in style. Even though the last few days of the month were marked by very low temperatures, we love how Christmas lights and the sunset make this picture warm. The temple in focus paired perfectly with the blurred lights, giving it the right amount of depth to make it more interesting.

“Merry and bright” are written all over this picture and it’s simply beautiful! It’s cool that you can see the temple from almost anywhere on Temple Square, and it doesn’t matter how many thousands of Christmas lights there are, the temple is still the focus.
